Your data stays confidential.
The promise, in full, and the three rules behind it.
Your data stays confidential. We never show your company's data to anyone else. We only publish results as summaries that combine many companies, and never for a group smaller than five. We never sell or share your raw data.
- A minimum of 5 companies behind every result.
- No employee names, ever. If your file has them, we drop them on arrival.
- Your raw data is never sold or shared.
Who's in
Employers that the big surveys overlook, comparing pay with their peers.
P50 is built for employers in:
- Manufacturing
- Healthcare
- Nonprofits
- Local government
- Professional services
Who runs it
A small team of compensation analysts, with one hard rule.
We are a small team of compensation analysts. We have spent years building pay data for employers, and we kept seeing the same thing: the companies that most need good market data are the ones priced out of it.
P50 is our answer. Share the pay file you already have, and get the market back. Free, for every participant, with a hard rule that nothing is ever shown for fewer than 5 companies.
We publish exactly how we calculate every number.
Nothing is ever shown for fewer than 5 companies.
Questions
Short, honest answers to what people ask first.
Is P50 really free?
Yes. P50 is free for every participant. There is nothing to buy, and you get the market report back at no cost.
Who can take part?
Any employer with pay data to share can take part. P50 is built for companies with about 100 to 2,000 employees, in industries like manufacturing, healthcare, nonprofits, local government, and professional services.
What do I need to send?
Send a pay file as Excel, CSV, or an HR system export with job title, base pay, and work location for each employee. Employee ID, bonus, full or part time, hire date, department, and exempt status help but are not required. Do not send employee names; if your file has them, we drop them on arrival.
Will anyone see my company's pay data?
No. We never show your company's data to anyone else. Results are published only as summaries that combine many companies, and never for a group smaller than five.
Do I have to match my jobs to a catalog?
No. Our AI matches your jobs to the market for you. There is no template to fill in and no job matching to do by hand.
What do I get back, and when?
You get a market report with pay medians by job and location, and how your pay compares. Data collection runs March 1 to May 3, 2027. Reports go to participants in summer 2027.
When does the survey open?
Registration is open now. Data collection for the 2027 survey runs March 1 to May 3, 2027, with pay data as of March 1, 2027. Companies that register before March 1 are founding participants.
Who runs P50?
P50 is run by a small team of compensation analysts. The company that operates P50 is named in our Terms.
What does P50 mean?
P50 means the 50th percentile, which is the median. It is the middle of the market: half of the pay rates are above it and half are below.
